Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved a N5 million compensation for each family of the forest guards killed during an attack at the Old Oyo National Park. The governor announced the package on Friday during an on-the-spot assessment of the scene of the attack at Oloka village in Oriire Local Government Area of the state. The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has confirmed that 14 vessels are currently at Lagos ports, awaiting berthing to offload assorted consignments. According to the NPA’s Shipping Position bulletin released on Friday, the ships are spread across the Apapa, Tin Can Island and Lekki ports. The authority explained that 11 of the vessels are lined up to discharge general cargo, containerised goods, bulk salt, empty containers, bulk wheat, bulk urea and fresh fish. It added that the remaining three ships are tankers scheduled to berth with petroleum products, including petrol, diesel and crude oil.
