The US Defence Department will ask Congress to approve around $80 billion to cover costs from the Iran war and other expenses, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday. President Donald Trump has faced backlash from Americans who accuse him of pouring billions of taxpayer dollars into the Middle East conflict while oil prices and inflation skyrocket in the United States. Deputy Defence Secretary Stephen Feinberg shared the request with lawmakers this week, the Journal said, citing people familiar with the discussions. Pentagon leaders have said they risk running out of money for operations in the coming months unless Congress passes…

The United States and Australia will look to book their place in the World Cup knockout rounds on Friday, while Brazil aim to kickstart their campaign against Haiti. After tournament co-hosts Mexico sealed their place in the last 32 on Thursday with a 1-0 victory over South Korea, the USA or the Socceroos can join them with a victory in their Group D game in Seattle. After an unconvincing build-up, the Americans made a flying start to the World Cup last week with a stylish 4-1 demolition of Paraguay in Los Angeles. That result has left Mauricio Pochettino’s USA team…
If you’ve been following my reporting on the Trump phone, you’ll know that Trump Mobile doesn’t exactly keep open lines of communication with the media. That doesn’t look to be changing, with the company no longer working with its long-term media relations firm.Poplar Group has represented Trump Mobile since at least last June, when the company’s founding partner Chris Walker gave a statement to USA Today, insisting at the time that “T1 phones are proudly being made in America.” That, of course, is not true, which even Trump Mobile now admits.I’ve spoken to Walker a few times, and he offered…
Binance’s faltering European Union Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license application in Greece has raised questions about whether the bloc’s central bank may have played an informal role in the process, despite not having formal authority over licensing decisions.Even though MiCA assigns approval of crypto-asset service provider (CASP) licenses to national competent authorities (NCAs), lawyers told Cointelegraph that its wording does not prevent other EU institutions, including the European Central Bank (ECB), from communicating with those regulators during the review process.“Nothing in the MiCA framework would prevent a third party like the ECB from offering its opinion to that national…

During the Friday, June 18, episode of the show, Jen Terry and Gabriel Vasconcelos celebrated their recoupling by hooking up — again — in full view of the other Islanders. The next day the others poked fun at Jen and Gabriel covering themselves up with a sheet despite everyone knowing what they were up to. The episode ultimately ended with Gabe being banished from the villa by the girls. Jen and Gabriel previously…
