The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, has formally resigned from his position and defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara State has suspended a governorship aspirant, Alhaji Ladi Hassan, over allegations of anti-party activities and gross misconduct. The development was disclosed in a suspension letter issued by the Magaji Ngeri Ward Executive Committee in Ilorin West Local Government Area of the state on June 2, 2026. The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two individuals for allegedly spreading false information about a purported bandit attack in Lamini Community, Ido Local Government Area, which security authorities say never occurred. The suspects identified as a pastor and a female resident, were taken into custody after police investigations traced the source of reports which claimed that six people had been killed during a bandit invasion of the community. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has declared a foreign national and two other individuals wanted over alleged financial crimes including obtaining money by false pretence and criminal breach of trust. This was contained in two separate notices issued on Tuesday by the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale.
