The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has neutralised more than 40 terrorists in coordinated close air support and air interdiction operations at Azir and Musarram areas of Borno, disrupting planned attacks and bolstering ongoing ground operations. Gunmen have shot dead a 50-year-old man, Alhaji Sadauna, during an attack on Gbajimba village in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the attackers invaded the community at about 10 am on Saturday, assaulted the victim, and fled immediately after the incident. One of the sources said troops of Sector 1 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), based in Gbajimba, were promptly alerted and moved to the scene. “Upon arrival, the soldiers discovered that Alhaji Sadauna had already been killed by the assailants,” the source said. The news of his death was confirmed on Sunday, January 18, 2025, after a video of his lifeless body surfaced on social media.
