You are an Iraqi based in London, United Kingdom, how did you learn to speak Yoruba? I trade at Woolwich Market. That is where I work and where I started meeting many Nigerian customers, especially Yoruba people. Many of the Nigerians I met at the market spoke Yoruba when they came to buy things from me. At first, I did not understand what they were saying, so I became curious and started asking them to interpret the words they used. That was how I gradually started learning Yoruba from my customers. What do you sell? I used to sell pepper…

Three days doesn’t sound like a long time, but you can watch so many movies in a 72-hour timeframe. Maybe that’s why Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+ and Apple TV decided to release some of their biggest late summer/early fall releases this Labor Day weekend. The Watch With Us crew are big nerds, which is why we’re over the Forest Moon of Endor with the streaming release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. We also love a good thriller, and HBO Max is now streaming one with Fuze, starring Theo James, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and a ticking time bomb in the heart…

The United States said Friday it had shot down over 300 drones operated by cartels along the Mexican border since the start of 2026. The US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM)—which covers the United States and neighboring countries—linked the drones to the drug trade, without naming any specific group. It said it shot down 100 drones in August alone but did not say on which side of the border. The US military said the devices were used by “transnational criminal organizations… to support illegal cross-border activity, including smuggling operations and surveillance of law-enforcement and military personnel.” Mexican Defense Secretary Ricardo Trevilla claimed…

Bluetti doesn’t want you to call the Pioneer 5000 a solar generator (SoGen), even though that’s what it is. What makes it slightly different from other large power stations that can be charged off solar — aka, a SoGen — is the dolly cart and up to 18KW of instant surge power available to start heavy equipment like air compressors, water pumps, and industrial motors. It features IP65 resistance to water and dust, and is designed to operate in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C. So, yeah, it’s a rugged, powerful SoGen.Whatever you call it, Bluetti wants you to consider it…

South Carolina congresswoman Nancy Mace is publicly reacting to Lindsay Clancy’s high-profile murder trial. “If postpartum mental illness becomes a get-out-of-jail-free card for murdering your children, then by that logic, anyone diagnosed with it should lose custody of their kids,” Mace, 48, wrote via Facebook on Wednesday, September 2, sharing footage from her appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored discussing the trial. “You cannot blame this murder on anyone or anything else.” Clancy, 36, was charged with murder following the deaths of her three children in January 2023. (Lindsay and ex-husband Patrick Clancy shared Cora, Dawson and Callan, who died at…

Paris Saint-Germain’s slow start to the French season continued on Friday as the reigning European champions went in front only to lose 2-1 at home to Monaco, who are top of Ligue 1. Captain Marquinhos gave PSG the lead just past the half-hour mark at the Parc des Princes, where Luis Enrique’s team were playing in front of their own fans for the first time in this campaign. But Monaco hit back in the second half as Flavio Nazinho equalised before Belgian winger Stanis Idumbo fired in the winner for the principality side, who are top of the early standings…

Audacity 4 has been in the works for some time, and had its own mini controversy last year when an unfortunate redesigned logo started making the rounds. The final version of the new icon isn’t nearly as bad as the early rendition that was circulating last October. But more importantly, all the promised improvements to the self-proclaimed “world’s most popular audio editing and recording app” are here, turning Audacity from a free and capable but extremely clunky audio editor into a powerful modern tool. The biggest change is the move to a non-destructive editing workflow. That means you can trim a…
