Former Chairman of the Nigeria Electricity Regulation Commission, NERC, Sam Amadi, has countered government officials’ warning against the politicisation of the nation’s security crisis. Nigeria National League, NNL, club Sunshine Stars have commenced an open screening exercise for the selection of new players to strengthen the team. The open screening which will be conducted by experienced tactician Duke Udi will start on Friday, June 5. The Edo State Government on Thursday said that it will commence training for newly recruited forest guards on June 5. The Commissioner for Public Safety and Security, Festus Ebea, in a statement released noted that the training would take place at the Police Training School, Ogida Barracks, Benin City and the recruits are to report on or before 5:00 p.m. on the stated date. Residents of Eda Oniyo in the Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Wednesday staged a protest over the continued captivity of 16 worshippers abducted by gunmen, despite the payment of N10.5m ransom.
