The Labour Party (LP) has filed a lawsuit against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over alleged exclusion of the LP’s candidate from forthcoming senatorial by-election in Enugu State. INEC had scheduled a by-election for Enugu North District for 20 June following the death of Okey Ezea, the senator who represented the district. Super Eagles defender Igoh Ogbu is set to be sidelined for a lengthy spell due to injury, DAILY POST reports. Ogbu ruptured his Achilles tendon during training with the Super Eagles in Lisbon on Saturday. The Delta State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a gun-running syndicate allegedly connected to the recovery of an illegal Beretta pistol in Effurun, Uvwie local government area. The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested seven suspected bandits in connection with ongoing investigations into criminal activities in Bagudo Local Government Area, including the recent killing of three personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps.
