A Jigawa State High Court has ordered the Attorney-General of Jigawa State, the Jigawa State Government and the Nigeria Police Force to jointly pay N10 million in damages for the unlawful detention of Ya’u Sabo (also known as Ja’o), who was held in custody for ten years without trial. The judgment, delivered on Tuesday by Justice Ado Yusif Birnin-Kudu, followed a Fundamental Rights Enforcement suit filed by the detainee. Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Super Falcons striker Joy Omewa, DAILY POST reports. Omewa, who joined Forest from Danish outfit Fortuna Hjørring signed a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season. The 23-year-old spent three years with Fortuna Hjørring, scoring 52 goals in 85 league appearances. The striker won  the Danish Women’s Cup twice and Kvindeligaen league title in 2024/25. An Ekiti State High Court, Ado Ekiti Division, on Tuesday sentenced three persons to death by hanging for armed robbery. The condemned inmates, Lasisi Afeez (33), Ilesanmi Seun (32) and Ajewole Peter (53) were arraigned before Justice Lekan Ogunmoye on a four count bordering on conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.
