A group, the Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly, has called for the prosecution of politician and former African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, over the alleged leaking of video footage from an ongoing court proceeding involving the Department of State Services. The group accused Sowore of contempt of court and breaching national security laws by allegedly circulating a video clip showing his lawyer cross-examining a DSS operative in a cyberbullying case instituted against him by the secret police. The University of Lagos and the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday, which will see the UK institution establish a Transnational Education Unit at UNILAG. The MoU will see the two universities collaborate with Nigeria’s Ministry of Education to develop detailed proposals for the Transnational Education Unit in UNILAG, with a target to begin delivering programmes from 2027.
