The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the discovery of suspected remains believed to belong to a police inspector earlier declared missing in Guma Local Government Area of the state. The case is linked to Inspector Mohammed Yakubu of the 13 Police Mobile Force (PMF), attached to OPS Zenda Joint Task Force, who reportedly disappeared on June 13, 2025, at Tse Keleke, about 10 kilometres from Daudu. Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has ordered the revocation of all illegal allocations and encroachments on the land of Northwest University, Kano, while receiving the institution’s first female Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Amina Bayero. The Ondo State Police Command says it has arrested two suspected car thieves in the Akure area of the state in a collaborative operation with the Federal Road Safety Corps. This is just as the command said it recovered a vehicle that was stolen at gunpoint in Warri, Delta State, in 2022 from the suspects. The House of Representatives on Thursday approved the 2026–2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper, endorsing a crude oil benchmark of $64.85 per barrel for the 2026 fiscal year, in contrast to the $60 benchmark adopted by the Senate.
