Troops attached to Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) Joint Task Force have killed two suspected bandits during a security operation along the Naka–Makurdi axis of Benue State. Sources in the area disclosed on Monday that the assailants allegedly moved onto the highway before residents alerted security forces. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has disclosed that it arrested 336 suspects for offences related to cannabis sativa, popularly known as Indian hemp, in Ondo State in 2025. The agency also said it seized 22,316 kilograms of illicit drugs and destroyed 207,000 kilograms of cannabis from plantations and farms across the state during the year under review.
