Australia’s financial watchdog secured a court victory against financial services company BPS Financial Pty Ltd (BPS), with the Federal Court ordering the company to pay 14 million Australian dollars ($9.3 million) in penalties over the promotion and operation of its Qoin Wallet product.The ruling follows years of legal action brought by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), which accused BPS of running an unlicensed financial services business while making misleading claims about its crypto-linked payment product. A magistrate’s court in Lagos State has sentenced 26 suspected members of the Omotaku, a group of street-connected children and young adults often associated with crimes in different parts of the state, to three months’ imprisonment and arrested 115 street beggars during ongoing enforcement operations across the state. The ongoing strike embarked by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, since November 26, 2025, has crippled legislative activities at the Katsina State House of Assembly. Chairman African Democratic Congress, ADC, Sokoto State chapter, Alhaji Bello Isiyaku-Keegan, has denied Sen. Abubakar Gada’s membership. Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested 11 suspected kidnappers in the State.
