The World Health Organisation has disclosed health authorities in Burundi have detected eight samples of polio. The detection led to the official declaration of the country’s first outbreak in more than 30 years. The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji, Ondo State, has approved the appointment of Mr Samson Omogbehiin, as the rector of the polytechnic in an acting capacity. Facebook owner Meta announced a fresh wave of job cuts on Tuesday, part of what CEO Mark Zuckerberg called the company’s “year of efficiency” as the US tech sector continues to downsize.
