The PUNCH has gathered that Super Eagles goalkeepers trainer Ike Shorunmu and assistant coach Finidi George have been told by the Nigeria Football Federation not to join the squad for the 2023 AFCON double-header qualifiers against Guinea Bissau. Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has congratulated the Senator-elect for Enugu East District, Sir Kelvin Chukwu. DAILY POST had reported that the former Governor of Enugu State lost his return bid to the Senate. The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate lost to the Labour Party candidate, Sir Kelvin Chukwu. The LP candidate polled 69, 136 to beat Nnamani of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 48, 701 votes. Policeman, voter shot during assembly poll in Ondo

Two persons were shot during the House of Assembly election in Ondo State. The two victims were identified as a policeman and a resident of Idanre community. The incident occurred at Idanre, headquarters of Idanre Local Government Area of the state. According to sources, the gunshot was fired by a suspected hoodlum. DAILY POST learnt the suspect did not target the victims, therefore making them casualties of stray bullets. The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Sunday, began the announcement of the results of Saturday’s Houses of Assembly elections, with upset in some places. In Yobe State, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ahmed Lawan, who has been a lawmaker since 2003, was beaten to the Nguru II Constituency seat by 36-year-old candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Lawan Musa. Working more than 48 hours weekly harmful – Report

A report from the International Labour Organisation has revealed that working for hours that are too long negatively affects workers’ safety, health, and ability to reconcile work and personal life. According to the report, working fewer than 20 hours is considered short working hours, while more than 48 hours is considered excessive working hours. 38-year-old man steals N2.4m tricycles

A 38-year-old man, Offiong Edet, has been arraigned before the Ogba Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State for allegedly stealing two tricycles worth N2.4m in the Agege area of the state.
