Harvard alumnus advises incoming govt on economic growth

A former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Ms Ifueko Okauru, has urged the incoming government to focus on policies that will bring collective economic growth. She advised the incoming administration to create an enabling environment that would foster the private sector to thrive which would also help reduce unemployment. Working more than 48 hours weekly harmful – Report

A report from the International Labour Organisation has revealed that working for hours that are too long negatively affects workers’ safety, health, and ability to reconcile work and personal life. According to the report, working fewer than 20 hours is considered short working hours, while more than 48 hours is considered excessive working hours. It said working for too long was associated with an increased probability of heart disease and stroke, through stress, and the biological and behavioural responses to such stress in countries across the world. 38-year-old man steals N2.4m tricycles

A 38-year-old man, Offiong Edet, has been arraigned before the Ogba Magistrates’ Court sitting in the Ikeja area of Lagos State for allegedly stealing two tricycles worth N2.4m in the Agege area of the state. The tricycles are said to belong to a man, Jepter Chukwuma.
