Customs seizes 1,800 Jerry cans of petrol, items worth N58m in Adamawa, Taraba

The Adamawa/Taraba Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has seized 1,868 24-litre and 30-litre Jerry cans and one 220-litre drum of contraband petrol. The command, at a press briefing on Tuesday, said it also seized 10 bales and two sacks of secondhand clothes. The seizures, made mostly along Adamawa Taraba international border lines, were effected within the last one month. The items are estimated to have duty paid value of N58,117,550, according to the controller of the command, Comptroller Mohammed Tako. Wasiu Alalade is poised to make a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL. The midfielder is reportedly close to joining five-time NPFL champions Shooting Stars.
