The Taraba State Government has denied allegations that it dismissed civil servants following a recent staff verification exercise. Speaking during the 2026 Workers’ Day celebration in Jalingo, the Head of Civil Service, Hamidu Ahmed Kara, said no worker had been sacked under the administration of Agbu Kefas. Kara explained that the state government carried out a verification exercise in 2025 to authenticate workers’ identities, during which more than 3,100 workers were found to have documentation irregularities. Security operatives have arrested three men suspected of being part of a bandit group and recovered weapons in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State. Security sources said the suspects were arrested at about 10 am on April 29 along the Tangaza–Gidan Madi road after intelligence was received about a planned attack in the area.
