A 103-year-old woman has died in a fire that broke out at a residential building on Bola Street, Oyingbo, Lagos State, destroying several household properties. The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, in a statement on Friday, said the agency received a distress call about the fire outbreak at about 12pm He noted that upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that a bungalow with shops attached had been engulfed in flames. The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed that the Federal Government does not negotiate with or pay ransom to kidnappers or terrorist groups. The Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna has announced that Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal has been safely released after being kidnapped in November 2025. The Chancellor of the Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, said the priest regained his freedom on January 17 after spending two months in the hands of his captors. Rev. Fr. The State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State has rejected its dissolution announced by the party’s National Working Committee in some states, including Osun.
