Unknown gunmen have abducted two daughters and a relative of Apollos Samchi, Managing Director of the Plateau State Water Board, in Jos, Plateau State. The incident occurred at around 12: 53 am on Monday, January 26, at Samchi’s residence in the Rantya area of Jos South Local Government Area. The Arewa Consultative Forum has expressed concern over the continued captivity of worshippers abducted from Kurmin Wali village in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, urging authorities to act swiftly to secure their release. The worshippers were abducted about a week ago when gunmen invaded three churches in the community during worship sessions, carting away several residents in the attack. The Enugu State Police Command has intensified its crackdown on drug trafficking and related criminal activities with the arrest of four suspected drug peddlers in separate, intelligence-driven operations within and around the Enugu metropolis. The arrests were carried out by operatives of the Command’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team and the Anti-Cultism Squad.
