Men’s football transfer fees hit record bn – FIFA

International transfer fees in men’s football hit a record $13.08 billion (10.9 billion euros) in 2025, world football’s governing body said on Wednesday. FIFA said in its annual Global Transfer Market report that there was an all-time record of 86,158 international transfers completed in 2025. Women’s football accounted for 2,440 transfers (+6.3%) and total spending of $28.6 million, a year-on-year increase of more than 80%. Court sentences security guard to life imprisonment for raping nurse

The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court in Ikeja, on Wednesday, sentenced a security guard, Emmanuel Buchi, to life imprisonment for raping a 37-year-old nurse (name withheld) in a school clinic. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mr Buchi and the nurse were employees of Greensprings School, Awoyaya, Ibeju-Lekki, where the incident occurred on 27 November 2021. Bird strike, weather disrupt Air Peace flights

Air Peace on Wednesday said adverse weather conditions and a bird strike disrupted some of its scheduled flights on major domestic routes, including Lagos–Port Harcourt and Abuja–Owerri.
