The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed five separate fire incidents across different parts of the Kano metropolis within 24 hours, between January 27 and 28, 2026. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Public Relations Officer of the service, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi. The Independent National Electoral Commission has enrolled 36,638 new voters in Gombe State during Phase I of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, with women accounting for the majority of registrants for the first time in the state’s history.
