The Niger State Police Command has confirmed that it has launched an investigation into the killing of two farmers in Poto village, Mokwa Local Government Area, following a violent escalation linked to a long-standing land dispute with neighbouring Ketso village. In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun, the command said preliminary investigations revealed that youths from Ketso village attacked Mohammed Kudu, 42, who was beaten to death and reportedly set ablaze. The embattled Nigerian evangelist, Yinka Yusuf, has decided to look elsewhere for his “1 Million Crusade” after the Akwa Ibom State Government cancelled an approval granted to him.
