The Central Bank of Nigeria has revealed that Nigeria’s average daily foreign exchange turnover has risen to over $400 million, up from about $100 million recorded in 2023, reflecting growing investor confidence. Stakeholders in the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector in Bauchi State have proposed the introduction of a “WASH Tax” on companies and allied institutions operating in the state as part of efforts to improve funding for water and sanitation services. The proposal formed part of resolutions reached at the end of the 2026 State WASH Joint Sector Review (JSR) held between May 12 and 14 at Hazibal Suites, Bauchi.
