The 2023 All Progressives Congress, APC, gubernatorial candidate in Adamawa State, Aishatu Binani, has officially defected to the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC. Binani announced her defection on Friday in Adamawa State. DAILY POST recalls that the former lawmaker in July 2025 defected to the African Democratic Congress, ADC, after a strained relationship with the APC leadership in the state. Then, by April 2026, there were further reports of a crisis, with a bloc loyal to Binani allegedly resigning from the ADC due to internal disagreements over party congresses.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, said its operatives have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja. NDLEA said a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered during the operation. Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two suspected cattle rustlers and recovered a cow valued at N1.7m during a swift response operation in the Ifo/Ibogun area of the state.  In a statement issued on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said, “The suspects, identified as Muhammed Monsur and Olaseinde Olatunji, were apprehended by operatives of the Special Weapons and Tactics unit following a distress call from a farmer whose livestock had been attacked.”  He said the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, April 30, 2026, at about 2:30 a.m., when suspected rustlers invaded a dairy…
