Security operatives have arrested two men suspected of posing as soldiers in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The arrest was made around 8:30 p.m. on May 1 along Bauchi Street in Kafanchan town by troops of Sector 7 of Operation Safe Haven. This was revealed by security sources who spoke with security expert, Zagazola Makama. The suspects were reportedly wearing military camouflage, which raised suspicion during a patrol. Sri Lanka raised fuel prices by nearly four per cent on Sunday, further fuelling inflation, which more than doubled last month due to the Middle East war. Since March, Sri Lanka has raised fuel prices by more than 35 per cent, while gas and electricity rates have also increased by a similar amount. The island has also rationed fuel following supply disruptions. The Confederation of African Football has announced the kick-off and final dates for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. “The opening match will be played on Saturday, 19 June 2027, and the final on Saturday, 17 July 2027,” CAF disclosed in a statement issued on Saturday.
