It was all glitz and glamour at the 16th annual Afrik Fashion Week which took place this week in Côte d’Ivoire’s commercial capital, Abidjan. Nigeria: Gombe Governor Wins Second Term in Office

The Gombe State governor, Yahaya, won the governorship election for a second term on Sunday. Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State won Saturday’s governorship election for a second term in office. Mr Yahaya of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 342,821 votes to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Muhammad Jibiri Barde, who scored 233,131 votes. The result declared by the Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Maimuna Waziri, showed that the APC won the election with a margin of 74,493 votes. Police parade Kano legislator who allegedly led mob to burn INEC office

A member of Kano State House of Assembly, Isiyaku Ali Danja Gezawa and 164 persons were arrested by the Kano State Police Command for allegedly trying to set ablaze the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and a police station.
