Two women elected into Kogi State House of Assembly

Two female candidates have been declared winners of the just-concluded House of Assembly elections in Kogi. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the two female candidates – Omotayo Adeleye-Ishaya and Comfort Nwuchola – won in Ijumu and Ibaji State Constituency seats, respectively. Both were candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and were also first females to represent their respective constituencies in Kogi Assembly. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has adjourned the collation of results for the governorship election in Cross River to 9 a.m. on Monday. The State Returning Officer, Teddy Adies, announced the adjournment midway into the collation of the results on Sunday at the state INEC Collation Centre in Calabar.
