The Federal Government has disbursed N11.8bn to 6,842 academic and non-academic staff across Nigerian tertiary institutions under the Tertiary Institutions Staff Support Fund.  The beneficiaries span 141 institutions, including federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. The Nigerian government has demanded a thorough investigation into the deaths of the two Nigerians reportedly killed by officials of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). A High Court in Kano has sentenced Abdulaziz Umar to death by hanging after finding him guilty of killing Mubarak Salisu. Umar, a resident of Fagge Quarters in Kano, was convicted on two charges: armed robbery and culpable homicide.
