The Nigerian Army has dismissed as false a social media report claiming the recent killing of former Provost Marshal, Major General Hassan Ahmed, and the abduction of his wife near Abuja. The Army said the report being circulated online was a recycled account of an incident that occurred in 2021 and described its renewed circulation as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and create panic.
