The United States has seized roughly $1 billion in Iranian crypto assets, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday, adding that some of the wallet owners may not yet know the funds are gone.“I believe that we have seized about a billion dollars of their crypto,” Bessent said while speaking at the Reagan National Economic Forum. “Just outright grabbed the wallets. Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has once again, issued a stern warning against what he described as harmful grazing practices, cattle rustling, poisoning of livestock, willful destruction of crops, night and underage grazing, or any act capable of threatening peace and security in the state. A councillor representing Jangebe Ward, Habibu Jangebe, and the Director of Planning of Talata-Mafara Local Government, Alhaji Jamilu Sani, in Zamfara State, have been killed by bandits over alleged alignment with Lakurawa terrorists. The two officials were accused of allegedly paying the Lakurawa group on a monthly basis. Consequently, they were attacked by bandits, leading to their deaths.
