The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH, Bauchi, has apprehended an elderly man allegedly involved in defrauding patients and their relatives within the hospital premises. The hospital management disclosed that the suspect, who is not an employee of ATBUTH, was detected by its SERVICOM Unit during routine surveillance activities. Debt service and personnel costs have swallowed more than the Federal Government’s total revenue for the first seven months of 2025, even as receipts fell sharply below target and capital projects suffered deep cuts. The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, on Wednesday revealed that joint security forces across the state have rescued approximately 35 kidnapped victims and arrested around 300 suspected criminals since the start of 2025. Orutugu, who disclosed this during a press briefing at the command’s headquarters in Awka on Wednesday, said the joint security operations also led to the recovery of over 2,000 arms and ammunition, including explosives and other dangerous items.
