Gunmen have abducted the newly elected vice chairman of Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, Alhaji Saidu. The hoodlums also abducted councillors representing Zarawuyaku and Miringa wards in the area. FIFA has punished Malaysia with three 3-0 defeats in three matches after they were found guilty of fielding ineligible players. The Rivers State Police Command has said its operatives have neutralised two suspected kidnappers and rescued a female victim along Ozuaha Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state. The command said the suspects were gunned down after they opened fire on operatives who stormed their hideout based on credible intelligence. According to the police, the kidnappers were sharing the ransom collected from the victim’s family when operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit, acting on a tip-off, intercepted them.
