The US Federal Reserve is requesting public input on its proposed “payment account,” dubbed a “skinny master account” which fintechs and crypto firms are drawn to as it would allow access to the central bank without needing the typical approvals. “These new payment accounts would support innovation while keeping the payments system safe,” Fed Governor Christopher Waller said on Friday. The Enugu State Government has asserted its ownership of a disputed plot of land located at Cadastral Zone B03, Wuye District, Abuja, stating that the disputant, Simonis Ventures Nigeria Limited, has no valid claim or interest in the property. The government accused Simonis of a failed attempt to fraudulently acquire Plot 804 in the Wuye District, measuring about one hectare, through a fraudulent transfer of ownership, insisting that the property has not changed hands since it was first allocated to Enugu State. No fewer than 42 Nigerians have been deported from Ghana’s Ashanti Region following rulings by various courts over alleged prostitution, fraud, and other related offences. The development was disclosed in a Facebook post on Thursday, December 18, 2025, by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene. According to him, other foreign nationals deported include 13 Cameroonian nationals, three Ivorian nationals, three Burkinabe nationals, and seven Benin nationals. In total, 68 African nationals were affected by the court decisions.
