Fear has spread among residents of Lagos following the arrest of two suspected fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, in the state, according to PREMIUM TIMES. It was gathered that the suspects, identified as Modu Gana and Ibrahim Dugge, were arrested on Sunday, December 21, by operatives of the State Security Service, SSS. Two yet-to-be-identified people have died on Monday in a single-vehicle accident along the Isara-Remo/Erimobi Bridge section of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. The report identified the accident vehicle as a Suzuki bus with the registration number KRD 194 JW. The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, has approved the College of Education and Entrepreneurship Studies, Lessel, Benue State, to run degree programmes in education-related disciplines. The Kirikasamma Local Government Area of Jigawa State has introduced monthly allowances for former chairmen, deputies, councillors and other past political appointees as part of efforts to strengthen engagement with former leaders. The Chairman of the council, Maji Wakili Marma, announced the initiative on Monday at the council headquarters, saying it was aimed at enhancing collaboration and recognising the contributions of past office holders. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, on Monday said the command had deployed over 5000 police personnel for the protection of lives and property during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
