The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has deployed over 1,100 personnel across Bauchi State to ensure the safety of lives and property during the Christmas and New Year festivities. Kidnappers who abducted 28 travellers in Plateau State have demanded a ransom of ₦1.5 million for each victim, a relative of one of the abducted persons has said.
