APC primary: Ekiti Rep rejects election results, seeks review

House of Representatives member representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency 2, Akinlayo Kolawole, has rejected the result of Saturday’s All Progressives Congress primary election in his constituency. Kolawole, who, in the election, is seeking the party’s return ticket, said that the result announced by the returning officer, Banjo Adedoyin, was “inconsistent with the actual will of the electorate” as he called for a review by the party’s national leadership. The Nigerian Navy has dismantled an illegally reconstructed refining cluster, along the Rivers–Bayelsa border, recovering about 8,500 litres of suspected petroleum products.
