The African School of Governance has said 48 students drawn from 14 African countries are undergoing leadership and governance training in Rwanda as part of efforts to develop practical solutions to the continent’s persistent challenges. The European Union (EU), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) have pledged support for Nigeria’s 2026–2030 National Drug Control Master Plan aimed at tackling substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has stepped up surveillance and emergency response following an Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and a confirmed imported case in Uganda. Although Nigeria has recorded no confirmed case of Ebola, NCDC emphasised that it is maintaining heightened vigilance due to increasing regional mobility and the risk of cross-border transmission. Controversy and protests trailed Monday’s All Progressives Congress senatorial primaries in Kogi State, even as former Governor Yahaya Bello and other aspirants won in their respective districts.
