The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has dismissed rumours it has sanctioned free entry for fans at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. There were reports that CAF, in conjunction with the Local Organsing Committee, LOC, has ordered free entry for fans due to low turn out at different stadia. The Anambra State Police Command has arrested one Nicholas Nweke, said to be a suspected armed robber who specialises in robbing unsuspecting victims at bus stops and other public spaces. In a statement released on Saturday, the spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspect was arrested while trying to rob a victim. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has expressed hope that the agreements recently reached with the Nigerian government would be honoured.
