Nigeria sends high-level delegation to Burkina Faso over detained NAF personnel

The Federal Government has dispatched a high-level delegation to Burkina Faso to engage the country’s leadership over the continued detention of Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilots and crew members. The delegation comprises senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence and the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, and is led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar. Gunmen kill 12 miners in fresh attack on Plateau community

Not less than 12 miners have been killed by gunmen, with many unaccounted for in the Faan District of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The Berom Educational and Cultural Organization, BECO, which disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, said the gunmen attacked the miners while they were engaging in their mining activity on Tuesday night. NLO sets guidelines for new season registration

The Nationwide League One, NLO, has announced players registration guidelines ahead of the upcoming season. The league body has urged clubs to remit a registration fee of ₦600,000 (six hundred thousand Naira) to its account in other to gain access to the NLO’s database. The modalities is for clubs in the NLO Division One and the U-19 Youth League. For the youth league clubs, submission of players’ primary school certificates is required. The National Pension Commission has recovered over N4.04bn in unremitted pension contributions between January and November 2025, representing an increase of more than 180 per cent compared with the N1.44bn recovered in the entire 2024 financial year. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has said it will prosecute five herbalists arrested at shrines in Lagos and Osun states over the alleged possession of fake $3.4 million and €280,000.
