Advocacy group urges govt to establish spinal cord injury rehabilitation facility

The Spinal Cord Injuries Association Centre (SCIAN) has appealed to the Nigerian government to establish a dedicated hospital for the rehabilitation of those with spinal cord injuries. Abdulwahab Matepo, the group’s president, spoke at a press conference on Wednesday in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos. Windstorm topples 13 electricity poles, causes blackout in Kano, Katsina, Kaduna

The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has announced power outages in parts of Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states following the collapse of electricity poles caused by a strong windstorm. A female police officer and another person have died after a truck crashed into shops at New Mile 3 Market along the Gombe–Yola highway on Wednesday.
