The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service extinguished a fire incident at the Polaris Bank Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island, preventing what could have been a major escalation in the commercial hub. The Universal Basic Education Commission is set to begin the verification of 518 schools across the country ahead of the implementation of its 2025 School-Based Management Committee-School Improvement Programme. A 30-year-old woman, Chisom Chukwukere, who allegedly brutalised a 10-year-old boy in Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been arrested by the police.
