The Nigeria Police Force has arrested five suspected members of a robbery and abduction syndicate accused of operating “one-chance” attacks along major highways in Kebbi State. The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman. The suspects, Abubakar Muhammad of Bancho village in Tambuwal, Shehu Ango, Shamsu Daudu, Shuaibu Umar and Aisha Usmanu, were apprehended during coordinated security operations across Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, Jega, Maiyama and Aliero Local Government Areas. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission on Thursday said that electricity distribution companies (DisCos) metered a total of 241,590 customers between January and February. The commission disclosed this in a factsheet report shared on its X handle in Abuja. According to the report, a total of “119,792 customers were metered in January, while 121,798 were metered in February,” indicating metering rates of 57.93 per cent and 58.57 per cent, respectively.
