The Nigerian Center in partnership with Guinness Baltimore, has announced plans to organise an event which will display the richness and diversity of Nigerian culture in the United States.
A statement on the website of the centre on Thursday said the inaugural Nigerian-American Festival is a three-day cultural celebration to be held from 16 to 18 at Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore County.
The festival will showcase the quality of Nigerian culture through live music, cultural performances, authentic cuisine, interactive experiences, retail vendors, and family-friendly programming.
The organisation revealed that the team at Guinness Baltimore will collaborate with the Nigerian Centre on a custom limited-time beer release, which will be exclusively available at the brewery during the festival.
Speaking on the event on the centre’s website, the Executive Director, Gbenga Ogunjimi, said, “The Nigerian-American Festival reflects our belief that Nigeria’s story is larger than its borders.
“It lives through Nigerian Americans and resonates across the broader African diaspora, including African Americans and Afro-Latinos with shared ancestral and cultural ties to Nigeria.”
“We are proud to partner with Guinness Open Gate Brewery to create a festival where heritage, culture, entrepreneurship, and community come together in celebration. We look forward to welcoming visitors from across the region to experience the richness, vibrancy, and global influence of Nigerian culture.”
The National Guinness Ambassador in the US, Ryan Wagner, said the event would be a platform to celebrate Nigerian culture among its people in the US.
“Guinness has a proud and enduring relationship with Nigeria, where generations of consumers have made the brand part of their celebrations and traditions,” Wagner said.
