In a message titled “To My Lover, Foluke,” the cleric reflected on their 58 years of marriage, describing his wife as his friend, companion and pillar of support throughout his ministry and life’s journey.
Adeboye said celebrating his wife had been one of the greatest privileges of his life and expressed joy that others could join him in honouring her on the occasion of her birthday.
“Today, on your 78th birthday, it is a gift to me to have the world join me in doing what I have spent 58 years doing — celebrating you,” he wrote.
The revered cleric praised his wife for standing by him through challenges, victories and the various assignments God had entrusted to them.
“Many people know you as Mummy G.O. I have the privilege of knowing you simply as my wife, my friend, and the person who has stood with me through every challenge, every victory, and every assignment God has given us,” he said.
Adeboye also commended her sacrifices, compassion, wisdom and unwavering faith, noting that she had continued to strengthen others even in difficult moments.
“I have watched you give strength to others even when you were tired yourself. I have seen your quiet sacrifices, your compassion, your wisdom, and your unwavering trust in God,” he added.
According to him, their children, the church and countless families had benefited from her love, devotion and commitment to God’s work.
“Our children have been blessed because of your love. The family of God has been blessed because of your devotion. Countless homes have been strengthened because you answered God’s call with all your heart,” he said.
Reflecting on their nearly six decades together, Adeboye described his wife as “wife, counsel and companion in every sense the word was ever meant to hold.”
He prayed for continued strength, peace, joy and good health for her in the years ahead.
“May the God whom you have served so faithfully continue to uphold you. May He surround you with His peace, fill your days with fresh joy, strengthen your body, renew your strength, and continue to satisfy you with His goodness,” he prayed.
