Yoruba actor Olanrewaju “Baba Ijesha” James and his wife, fashion stylist Abiodun Tokunbo, have welcomed a newborn baby boy.
Baba Ijesha announced the new arrival on his Facebook page on Monday.
He revealed their son’s name as King Kagar. He currently has over four thousand followers on Instagram.
Baba Ijesha said God had been writing their story quietly, in ways unseen by others.
“In quiet ways, in unseen ways, God has been writing a story only He could tell. We thank the Almighty for blessing us with a healthy baby boy.

“God gave me more than l prayed for, my ever beautiful wife, strong jagaban, Abikesde mi owoh, ceolumineeofficial, who became a mother of my son King Kagar, Omiyinka,” the post read.
12 years
However, in an announcement on her Instagram page on Monday, Anjy Luminee Couture CEO declared that the moment she and Baba Ijesha had long awaited had finally arrived.
She described their hearts as bursting with love, adding that Kagar has come to light up their lives.
She wrote: “Psalm 139:13. Jeremiah 29:11. Numbers 6:24. Jeremiah 1:15. You’re chosen King Kagar. Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, Ariyo Osuu, 12 years after Anjola Sarigu. Our little miracle is finally here! My father, thank you for the precious gift of this beautiful baby boy. We dedicate his life to you today.
“Lord, place a hedge of protection around him, guard his health, and grant him peaceful sleep. We pray that he will grow to be a man of courage, wisdom, and deep faith. Fill his heart with your love and guide his steps all the days of his life… I’m so grateful.”
Congratulations
Colleagues of the new mother and Baba Ijesha have flooded the comment sections of their posts with congratulatory messages following the birth of their son.
Actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi, a close friend of Baba Ijesha, shared a video of the couple on his Instagram page, congratulating them on the arrival of baby Kagar.
“And to God be the glory, God just blessed Omiyinka Olanrewaju James, a.k.a. Baba Ijesha, and CEO of Luminee, with a bouncing baby boy. Congratulations are now in order. Olurun ti ka moo wa. Thank you, Lord,” Mr Fabiyi wrote.
Background
No public records confirm when they married, although in his post, he referred to her as his wife. Still, she notably did not refer to him as her husband in her own post.
In March, Baba Ijesha revealed during an interview on the “Talk to B” podcast with actress Biola Adebayo that he was married previously.
He described the marriage as peaceful in its early days, but said trouble set in after his wife travelled to the United Kingdom to pursue a master’s degree.
Baba Ijesha said he threw his full support behind her ambition, buying her a flight ticket, processing her visa, and handling every detail to ensure a smooth departure, only to discover later that her trip had nothing to do with studying.
PREMIUM TIMES reported that Baba Ijesha was released from prison in November 2025 after serving a jail term following his conviction in a sexual assault case.
