Kwara State Government has commenced free online registration for the 2026 Placement Examination into public junior secondary schools across the state, with the exercise to be conducted through a dedicated online platform.
The government said the examination, popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination, is designed for eligible Primary Six pupils seeking admission into public junior secondary schools in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Peter Amogbonjaye.
According to the statement, registration for pupils in private primary schools will begin on Tuesday, June 9, while registration for pupils in public primary schools will commence on Friday, June 12.
The Ministry said, “The registration exercise for pupils in private primary schools begins on June 9, while registration for pupils in public primary schools starts on June 12.”
It added that registration for all categories of schools would close on June 22, urging stakeholders to adhere strictly to the timeline.
It also explained that the registration process would be carried out through the pupils’ current primary schools and is strictly reserved for Primary Six pupils in approved public and private primary schools across Kwara State.
“The registration exercise will be conducted through the pupils’ existing schools and is strictly for Primary Six pupils in approved public and private primary schools across the state,” it stated.
The ministry directed all private primary schools to obtain clearance from the Quality Assurance Bureau before accessing the portal login credentials required for the registration process.
“All private primary schools are required to obtain clearance from the Quality Assurance Bureau before they can access the portal login credentials needed for registration,” it added.
The government also warned school administrators against collecting any form of payment from pupils or parents, stressing that the registration exercise is entirely free.
“No principal, headteacher, or school official should collect money from pupils or parents under any guise. Any individual found extorting candidates will face appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law,” it warned.
The ministry further urged parents and school authorities across the state to take advantage of the free registration window to ensure that all eligible pupils participate in the placement examination.
