Khalifatul-Adabiyah, Ash-Sheikh Abdulqodir Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adabiy, is dead.
The cleric, who was the son of the foremost Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Kamalud-deen, died in the early hours of Friday.
According to a Facebook post by a renowned scholar in Ilorin, Shaykh Abdul Fatah Aribidesi, and other multiple posts, he died in Ilorin.
The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Mai-Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has mourned the passing of the Khalifatul Adabiyyah Worldwide.
The deceased, who was the eldest surviving son of Sheikh (Dr.) Muhammad Kamaludeen Al-Adaby, the late 1st Grand Mufti of Ilorin, died on Friday in Ilorin.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, in a condolence message issued by his spokesman, Dr. Abdulazeez Arowona, described the “incident as a colossal loss to the people of Ilorin Emirate and humanity in general.”
The Emir also mourned the passing of the father of Alhaji Uthman Jagunmo, National President of the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA) and Jagunmo of Ilorin, Alhaji Alabi Jagunmo. He noted that both deaths were painful blows to the Ilorin Emirate and said he submitted totally to the will of Almighty Allah.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari prayed to Allah in His infinite mercy to grant the duo of Khalifatul Adabiyya and the Jagunmo of Ilorin absolute comfort in their graves, forgive their shortcomings, accept their good deeds, and admit them into Al-Jannah Firdaus.
The deceased was the son of the late Sheikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al-Adaby, founder of Azumratul Adabiyyah Al-Kamoliyyah. Sheikh Muhammad Al-Adaby was approximately 98 to 100 years old when he passed away in 2005.
Meanwhile, reacting to Sheikh Abdulqodir’s demise, Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central in the National Assembly, expressed deep sorrow over the cleric’s passing.

“In his condolence message, Senator Mustapha described his passing as a monumental loss to the Ilorin Emirate, the Muslim Ummah, and humanity at large. The Turaki of Ilorin Emirate and lawmaker representing Kwara Central, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Khalifah Adabbiyah, Sheikh Abdulquadri Muhammad Kamaldeen.
“In his condolence message, Senator Mustapha described his passing as a monumental loss to the Ilorin Emirate, the Muslim Ummah, and humanity at large.”
