Tinubu sweeps Yobe APC presidential primary with 253,804 vot

President Bola Tinubu recorded a sweeping victory in the All Progressives Congress presidential primary election in Yobe State on Saturday, securing 253,804 votes.

Governor Mai Mala Buni, who served as the collation officer for the exercise, announced in Damaturu that Tinubu polled 91.5 per cent of the total registered APC members in the state to emerge victorious in the primary.

According to the governor, Tinubu defeated his challenger, Osifo Stanley, who scored zero votes in the election.

Declaring the results, Buni said, “President Tinubu has scored 91.5 per cent of the total number of registered APC members in Yobe State in today’s presidential primary election.”

He added, “President Tinubu was declared winner of the election, having scored 253,804 votes to beat Osifo Stanley, who scored zero votes.”

The governor described Yobe as a stronghold of the APC and a “second home” to the President, assuring party supporters that the state would massively support Tinubu in the general election.

“Yobe State will deliver 100 per cent of its votes to President Tinubu in the general election to return him to office for his second term,” Buni stated.

He commended APC supporters for the large turnout recorded during the exercise and urged them to replicate the same commitment during the general election.

“We should reflect this in the general election with full force,” he said.

Buni also praised residents of the state for the peaceful conduct of the primary election, describing the exercise as a demonstration of loyalty and support for both Tinubu and the ruling party.

“I commend the people for the peaceful conduct and the show of love to President Tinubu and the party,” the governor added.

The primary election witnessed participation from APC members across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State, further reinforcing the party’s dominance in the state.
