Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has vowed that the promise to deliver more than one million votes to President Bola Tinubu in 2027 will not be reversed or compromised.
PUNCH Online recalled that the ruling All Progressives Congress held its presidential primary elections across the country on Saturday ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking with journalists after participating in the election at his ward on Saturday in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area during the concluded APC presidential primary election, the governor declared that, “Our promise to deliver over one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is irreversible and uncompromising.”
Namadi said the massive turnout during the primary election showed the trust Jigawa people have in the President.
“As you can see, the people have lined up in masses for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while nobody is on the side of his opponents,” the governor stated.
“This is a testimony to how popular the President is in the minds of the people of Jigawa,” he added.
According to the governor, the smooth conduct of the exercise proved Tinubu’s commitment to internal democracy.
“If you look at how the exercise is going on, you can believe me that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embodies democracy,” he said.
However, the governor noted that Tinubu believes in internal democracy as key to national survival, peace, and progress.
He added that the outcome of the primary would send a strong message to opposition parties.
“The outcome will be enough to signal that the APC is on the path to clear victory at all levels in 2027,” Namadi said.
Moreover, Namadi commended APC members and the people of Jigawa for showing discipline and integrity throughout the exercise.
He, therefore, urged party supporters across the state to return home and begin strategising for the 2027 general election.
