No fewer than seven persons lost their lives, while the Chairman of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area sustained injuries in a fatal road accident along the Malam Madori–Hadejia Road in Jigawa State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama said in a post on X that police sources said the tragic incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on May 18, 2026, at Kashin Dila Junction and involved a Toyota Starlet and a black Mercedes-Benz GLK vehicle.
Sources told Makama that the Toyota Starlet, driven by Adamu Dakido, was transporting passengers from Hadejia to Malam Madori when it rammed into the GLK vehicle carrying the Chairman of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area and his driver from Gumel to Kafin Hausa.
The sources disclosed that all six occupants of the Toyota Starlet died instantly as a result of the impact of the crash.
It was also gathered that the driver of the GLK vehicle lost his life on the spot, while the council chairman sustained varying degrees of injuries during the accident.

A patrol team of the Nigeria Police Force was said to have responded promptly to the scene, where the injured victim and the corpses were evacuated to the General Hospital, Hadejia.
Police authorities said investigation into the cause of the fatal accident was ongoing.
